Ireland-Afghanistan ODI abandoned

Ireland's second one-day international with Afghanistan has been abandoned due to rain.

The teams were set to meet again in Sharjah in the United Arab Emirates with Ireland trying to level up the series after Thursday’s first international, but play was called off before a ball was even bowled with the pitch covered in water.

The countries are due to meet again on Tuesday in another ODI before three Twenty20 matches to follow concluding on 18 March.

Scotland’s ICC Cricket World Cup League 2 fixture with United Arab Emirates has been postponed due to wet weather in Dubai.

Scotland were due to take on UAE in the latest one-day international match of the series but a storm resulted in the fixture being called off without a ball being bowled.

Touring Scotland were eager to bounce back after they lost to Canada by five wickets on Thursday.
