IPL 2022 playoffs in Kolkata, Ahmedabad
Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad will stage the qualifier 2 and the final (on May 29), while the Eden Gardens in Kolkata will host the qualifier 1 and eliminator of IPL-2022. As of now, the BCCI has decided to allow 100% crowd capacity during the IPL playoffs. There was speculation that the BCCI will keep the playoffs in Mumbai and reduce the crowd capacity due to the rising number of Covid-19 cases in the country, but the Board has decided to wait and watch the situation.
The venues for IPL playoffs were formally decided at the BCCI's Apex Council meeting on Saturday. The league stage of the tournament will conclude in Maharashtra on May 22, after which the four teams will travel to Kolkata and Ahmedabad in the bio-bubble. Women's T20 Challenge in LucknowThe Women's T20 Challenge will be held at the Ekana Stadium in Lucknow from May 24.
Three teams will play four games in the tournament. The BCCI had earlier shortlisted Pune as a venue. Two venues changed for SA T20I seriesThe BCCI has switched two venues for the forthcoming South Africa's tour to India in June post the IPL, which will involve five T20Is.
Chennai (which was supposed to host the first T20I on June 9) and Nagpur (was to host the third T20I) will not host the matches now, while new venues being Cuttack and Vizag.
