IPL 2022: 'A day to forget for us' - Punjab Kings' skipper Mayank Agarwal after loss to Delhi Capitals

Delhi Capitals (DC) in the Indian Premier League (IPL) on Wednesday, Punjab Kings' (PBKS) skipper Mayank Agarwal expressed disappointment and said that he wants his team to forget the day and move on. Bowlers played a key role for Delhi as they bundled out Punjab for 115. The DC batters too responded strongly, chasing down the target inside 11 overs at the Brabourne Stadium here for a nine-wicket win. "It's a tough one, a day to forget for us. Best to move on and not think too much into the game. We didn't bat and bowl well, we just need to move on from today. We have been losing too many wickets too early, that's a concern," said Agarwal at the post-match presentation.

Delhi Capitals may have been the wounded team when they reached the venue but when they left the stadium, they had brutally scarred Punjab Kings. They dismissed Punjab for a paltry 115 and then chased down the target in 10.3 overs with nine wickets to spare.

"Don't want to delve too much. If we do so, a lot of negatives will come out. A total of around 180 could have been competitive. In hindsight, I could have given a couple of overs early to the spinners, but I didn't do so," he added. Punjab Kings' 115 is the lowest total by any team so far in the ongoing IPL season. The total was chased down by DC with 57 balls to spare as the team boosted its net run-rate.
