Inverness CT vs Partick Thistle fixture confusion as Jags denied rescheduling before game is moved for TV anyway

Confusion surrounds Partick Thistle’s trip to the Highlands to face Inverness Caledonian Thistle next month.

The Jags were due to head north on Saturday March 25 to rake on Billy Dodds' men, but had requested the match be rescheduled due to it being the same day that Scotland host Cyprus at Hampden in their opening Euro 2024 qualifier, with Thistle keen to enable their fans to attend both matches if possible.

Thistle released a statement expressing their disappointment at the decision, which read: “The club is disappointed to inform supporters that our game against Inverness at the Caledonian Stadium next month will take place as scheduled on Saturday, March 25 with a 3pm kick-off. We approached Inverness CT late last month to request the game be moved to avoid a clash with Scotland v Cyprus on the same afternoon (2pm), as we know many Jags supporters would wish to attend or watch both matches.

“However we were informed that the hosts would be unwilling to move it due to their matchday hospitality being fully booked for this particular fixture. We understand Inverness CT only sell matchday hospitality for a handful of selected games.

“The irony is not lost on the club that after seven successive midweek fixtures against this opposition, we are unable to move to a Friday night (or other non Saturday slot) on the one occasion many of our fans would have welcomed that.”

Since that update however, the SPFL have now released the latest TV picks for the Championship and Inverness CT vs Partick has now been selected for live broadcast by BBC Scotland on Friday, March 24 (kick-off 7.45pm).
