Inverness CT v Hamilton: Accies striker Andy Winter out to recreate Highland heroics in vital Championship clash

Andy Winter has scored the winner for Accies twice in their last three trips to Inverness.

Now the striker hopes with the club landing some creative talent in the January transfer window, his scoring run in the Highlands can continue - and help him get on the Championship goal trail again.

Accies head to Inverness on Saturday looking to replicate their impressive display in a 1-0 win there in October, when Winter gave the visitors a precious three points in their survival bid.

The club go into the clash sitting bottom of the table and three points adrift of nearest rivals Arbroath with a game in hand, which will come on Tuesday night when Accies and Inverness meet again at New Douglas Park.

With the likes of Dylan Stephenson on loan from Newcastle, Hearts loan striker Connor Smith now on board and midfield spark Lucas de Bolle back to full fitness, Accies will be able to provide better service to the likes of Winter to bolster his tally of seven goals in 33 appearances.

Winter, who has netted just twice since his winner at the Caledonian Stadium in October, said: "We've added to our firepower in the last few weeks and in our defence as well, so we are stronger [than the last meeting] and confident we can get a result.

"There are more creative players in the squad now as well and that is only good for guys like me.

"My goal at the start of the season was to get to 10 as quickly as possible and go from there.

"I'm close to that and every time I go on the park I am desperate to score goals. I just need a few more to get there.

"I've scored two goals in my last three games up there so it's a run I'm hoping to keep going this weekend.
