Inverness CT prepare for administration as board reveal fears they could go BUST if investment bid fails

Struggling Inverness Caley Thistle have revealed they will seek advice from aninsolvency practitioner with the club now facing real administration fears if they don't get the investment they need.

The former Scottish Cup winners - who reached the final in just 2023 - plunged to League One after relegation from the ChampionshIp last season. Since falling to the third-tier, Caley Thistle chiefs have aimed to cut costs of locating players in the Highlands by moving training 135-mile miles away to Kelty - which sparked a furious fan backlash with threats of a season ticket boycott made by supporters.

Last week, chairman Ross Morrison admitted the club could scrap plans - which have now been confirmed - to move their training base to Fife but there would be a £400,000 gap to plug as a result. However, the supremo sensationally stepped down just days later and the club have now broken their silence on what is next for the club. A statement from the board of directors read: "The board of directors are in discussions with potential new investors into the club and remain hopeful of finding a new investor or new owners.

"However, in the circumstances we currently find ourselves in following the loss of the Statkraft contract at Caledonian Stadium which was worth 7 figures to the club and given the new financial position of the club, it is also prudent to approach a suitably qualified insolvency practitioner to advise on how we may proceed should our efforts to find new investment fall short. For clarity, on the football front, we have decided to remain training at Fort George for the foreseeable future."
