Internet reacts to Rob Gronkowski's retirement announcement

Tampa Bay Buccaneers tight end Rob Gronkowski has announced his retirement, again.

The New England Patriots' 2010 second-round draft pick out of Arizona posted a statement on social media citing the end of his career.

«I will now be going back into my retirement home knowing I gave it everything I had, good or bad, every time I stepped out on the field,» Gronkowski wrote.

Gronk has the second-most career touchdowns in postseason history at any position (15), trailing only Pro Football Hall of Fame wide receiver Jerry Rice (22). He leaves the game as a four-time Super Bowl champion — three with the Patriots (XLIX, LI, LIII) and one with the Buccaneers (LV).

Despite the announcement, his agent, Drew Rosenhaus, is among those questioning whether we've really seen the last of the 33-year-old tight end.

«It would not surprise me if Tom Brady calls him during the season to come back and Rob answers the call,» Rosenhaus told ESPN's Adam Schefter. «This is just my opinion, but I wouldn't be surprised if Rob comes back during the season or next season.»

Only time will tell whether we'll see another «Gronk Spike» on the NFL gridiron, but nevertheless, his peers congratulated him on a legendary career.
