"Interesting" - Journalist drops claim as Spurs could rekindle interest in £29m ex-Conte target

Transfer insider Pete O’Rourke believes Tottenham could rekindle their interest in Barcelona winger Adama Traore this summer.

The Spaniard, who was heavily linked with a move to north London back in January, recently joined Barcelona on loan from Wolves, but there are doubts about whether the La Liga side can afford to buy him permanently.

As per Sky Sports, Barcelona have the option to sign Traore for £29m at the end of his loan spell. However, club president Joan Laporta has suggested that they may not be able to stump up the cash for the 26-year-old.

It could give Tottenham the chance to finally sign Traore after targeting him in the last transfer window, with SPORT claiming that they are monitoring his current situation.

According to The Times, Antonio Conte identified the Spain international as someone who could solve the team’s wing-back issue, while sources told GIVEMESPORT that Spurs were willing to make him one of the highest-paid players at the club.

Speaking to GMS, the football journalist said: “It’s going to be interesting to see if maybe Spurs rekindle their interest in Traore. I think, for now, Wolves are planning life without Adama Traore long term.”

It would not
