'Interested in a move' - Leeds given boost in quest to sign 'relentless' Champions League target
Leeds United transfer target Brenden Aaronson is interested in a move to the Premier League this summer, according to journalist Pete O’Rourke.
The Whites were continually linked with a move for the 21-year-old in January as Marcelo Bielsa desperately looked for midfield reinforcements.
RB Salzburg stood firm, though, seeing him as an important player in their Champions League run ahead of their imminent clash with Bayern Munich.
It seems quite clear that Leeds will again push to sign Aaronson in the summer transfer window, and a fresh update provides a boost in that respect.
Speaking to GiveMeSport, O’Rourke claimed that the American likes the thought of a move to England at the end of the current campaign.
The journalist claimed: “It seems the player himself would be interested in a move to the Premier League.”
Aaronson looks like a player who would fit seamlessly into Leeds’ midfield, considering his mix of quality and energy. Not only has he averaged two tackles per game in the Champions League this season, he has also achieved 1.3 dribbles per match, showing that he can cut it at the highest level of club football.
With Kalvin Phillips currently relied upon far too much at Elland Road, the Salzburg man would be an ideal addition in a more attack-minded role, having been hailed as ‘relentless’ by former coach Jim Curtin.
At 21, he has most of his career ahead of him, and five goals in 18 caps for the USA is further proof of his ability. Now that Leeds know their transfer target is seemingly eager on a move to England, they need to put the wheels in motion again to try and lure him to Yorkshire.
In other news, Leeds are reportedly eyeing up a summer move for one player. Find out who it is here.
