Inter star sends warning to Man City ahead of Champions League final showdown

Inter wide-man Robin Gosens believes the Italian side are capable of beating Manchester City - but has pointed out the major strength of Pep Guardiola's side.

The Atatürk Olympic Stadium hosts next Saturday's showpiece final, as City eye the treble. Guardiola's men wrapped up the Premier League a couple of weeks ago and saw off Manchester United in this weekend's FA Cup final - with Ilkay Gundogan scoring both goals in the 2-1 Wembley triumph.

It's now on to the big one for City, against an Inter side who finished third in Serie A this season and knocked out rivals AC Milan in the semi-final. Simone Inzaghi's men have also knocked out Benfica and Porto, with five clean sheets kept in their six knockout ties.

City's task will clearly be to break down that stubborn and organised back line. And while Germany international, Gosens, recognises the quality of opponent they are coming up against - he sees no reason why Inter cannot cause a shock on the night.

"It is a dream, as the Champions League Final is the biggest game that exists at club level," said Gosens. "We are all proud, but also aware we earned this opportunity on the pitch. We’re going there to win.

"Anything can happen in football. We deserved our place in that Final, we know it’ll be a struggle, but we have what it takes to beat Manchester City. We watched some of their games and their greatest strength is in their mobility.

"They give and go without the ball - there’s no player that just stays in their position, so that makes City particularly dangerous. But we have a week to study and prepare solutions to cause them problems."
