Insider "would expect" £100m+ star to join Manchester United in summer if he leaves current club

Transfer insider Dean Jones expects Manchester United to be Harry Kane‘s next club if he leaves Tottenham this summer.

The 28-year-old was a target for United’s rivals Manchester City last summer but is now being linked with a move to Old Trafford.

As per The Athletic, United want to sign Kane when the transfer window opens regardless of who their new manager is.

Their interest comes after City saw an £100m offer turned down for the England captain last year, showing the task the Red Devils face trying to land him this summer.

However, it is clear that they need a new forward at the club, with Edinson Cavani out of contract at the end of the season and Mason Greenwood unavailable for selection.

The futures of Marcus Rashford and Anthony Martial are also unclear. The former is thought to be considering his options right now, while the latter has spent the second half of the campaign out on loan at Sevilla.

Ultimately, the 20-time English champions could do with Kane, but getting him out of the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium does not look like it is going to be easy, as Spurs’ valuation is still thought to be upwards of £100m.

Jones, though, thinks Old Trafford is the most likely destination for the Spurs talisman if he were to leave north London. Speaking to GIVEMESPORT, the football journalist said: “If Kane was to get a new club, I would expect it to be Man United.”

Given how much Kane is likely to cost, you cannot see too many other teams challenging United for his signature.
