Manchester United told which two signings would make them title contenders again

Signing Declan Rice and Harry Kane would make Manchester United title contenders once again, according to a former Premier League footballer.

Rice has been continuously linked with a potential move to Old Trafford as United look to reinforce their midfield options this summer upon the impending exit of Paul Pogba. However, valuations of £150million from West Ham indicate tough negotiation discussions would ensue if the Red Devils decide to make a move for him.

The 23-year-old has been praised for his continual growth since Euro 2020, where he was one of England’s top performers. Chelsea, who released Rice from their academy aged 14, are also said to be in the running for the midfielder.

Hammers boss David Moyes has insisted he is going nowhere but Rice has previously revealed his desire to play in the Champions League, and West Ham look like they’re going to miss out on the top four. Meanwhile, Kane has been repeatedly touted for a switch to Manchester City.

The Three Lions captain was close to moving to the Etihad in the summer before announcing his commitment to Tottenham. He too has expressed a desire to regularly play at the highest level and win trophies.

With United set to miss out on next season’s Champions League as things stand, a move to Old Trafford looks off the cards, especially with Spurs currently in fourth place.
