Insider now claims huge rumour surrounding Leeds player is not true

This is according to football journalist Dean Jones who was speaking to This Is Futbol amid reports that Barcelona have agreed on a deal with the Brazilian winger.

Raphinha has been a main feature in the Leeds side this term, he has featured in 27 Premier Leagues, whilst being his side’s top goalscorer as he has netted nine times so far, as per Transfermarkt. But Leeds find themselves just two places above the drop zone, as we head into the dying embers of the season.

Raphinha was linked to a move away from Elland Road in January, with Bayern Munich interested in his signature, but the latest side to show interest in the winger is Barcelona.

Indeed, it’s been claimed that an agreement has been struck with Raphinha and Barcelona.

Although there have been heavy links between Raphinha and a move to Barcelona, Jones believes that the deal to Spain is not as far along the line as it is made out to be.

“Barcelona seem to be signing everyone in the past two weeks. I’m not sure that a lot of these deals are quite as far along as we’ll be led to believe,” Jones said.

TIF Thoughts on Dean Jones’ comments…

We will be interested to see how the summer transfer window turns out, regarding a transfer away from Elland Road for Raphinha, after he has been heavily linked with a move away from the club.

The Brazilian winger has been in fine form for the Whites this season, after he has 12 goal contributions so far in the Premier League, as per Sofascore.

His impressive stats have drawn attraction from European giants such as Barcelona and Bayern Munich, but Jesse Marsch may be reluctant to let his star man go in the summer, as he may look to build a team around the sought-after man ahead of next season.
