Victor Orta plotting Leeds bid for £20k-p/w "phenomenon", it could be bye-bye Raphinha - opinion

Leeds United could once again be interested in a deal to bring Noa Lang to Elland Road in the summer transfer window.

That’s according to a report by Leeds Live, who suggest that, following Jesse Marsch’s appointment as Marcelo Bielsa’s successor in the Leeds United dugout, Victor Orta could once again look to land the Club Brugge forward – who the former Whites’ manager vetoed a move for last year – at the end of the current campaign.

Indeed, Leeds Live go on to claim that a move for the 22-year-old is “more likely” now that it is the American in charge of the club, as the Netherlands international would appear to be a much better fit in Marsch’s tactical setup than he was for Bielsa’s.

While the loss of Raphinha – who has been heavily linked with a £60m move to Barcelona this summer – would undoubtedly come as a gutting blow to the Elland Road faithful, should Orta replace the potentially outgoing Brazil international with Lang, it would certainly ease the loss of the 25-year-old.

Indeed, over his 31 Jupiler Pro League appearances this season, the £22m-rated winger has been in sensational form for Alfred Schreuder’s side, scoring seven goals, registering 12 assists and creating a staggering 19 big chances for his teammates, as well as making an average of 1.9 key passes and taking two shots per game.

These returns have seen the £20k-per-week forward average a breathtaking SofaScore match rating of 7.22, not only ranking him as the joint 20th-best player in the Belgian top flight.
