Inside the 'haunted' pub with dark past on market with £330,000 price tag
A 'haunted' pub boasting a rather dark past has come on the market. Jack's Craft Ale House, formerly known as The George and Dragon, has been put up for sale with a £330,000 price tag.
The oldest pub in Huddersfield, which dates back to 1485, is found in the village of Flockton just over an hour from Manchester. The historic pub has a dark past with rumours that it is haunted by the old innkeeper's wife who was murdered there.
The tudor-style public house also has links to King Henry VII who reportedly visited the inn frequently on his travels to the Yorkshire dales. After being closed for months, it is now looking for a new landlord.

According to YorkshireLive, a plaque outside revealing its grim past reads: "This curious roadside inn was built in 1485. In those days it was known as The Noah's Ark or Chained Poker. This was due to the pokers which appeared at each side of the fireplace.
"It is said that the chains were used to murder the innkeeper's wife, who was hanged in front of the fireplace. Folklore says that she is still present to this day. The timbered house dates back to the reign of Henry VII and the king frequented this inn on his travels to the Yorkshire Dales.
"It wasn't until early Victorian times that the inn was renamed the George & Dragon. The village of Flocheton – as it was then known – is mentioned in the Doomsday (Domesday) Book (completed in 1086)."
Henry VII founded the Tudor dynasty and is best remembered for unifying the warring factions in the Wars of the Roses. The pub is being marketed by Everard Cole.
