Inside the dream Manchester city centre apartment which went viral on TikTok

Over the last decade Manchester has been transformed by several glitzy residential towers built to meet the increasing demand of city-centre living. These luxury apartment blocks are a dream for most, boasting incredible views and swanky amenities from pools and gyms to residents’ lounges' and cinema rooms.

Set next to the Bridgewater Canal in Castlefield, Castle Wharf was completed in late 2021 as a boutique waterside development, designed for those looking to live a life of luxury in the tranquil city-centre setting. Lauren Lee, who grew up in Rochdale, was lucky enough to buy one of the first apartments in the lavish building when she was just 21.

After moving into her new home, Lauren shared an apartment tour on TikTok which racked up almost a million views. Lauren, 23, spoke to the Manchester Evening News as part of our Where I Live series, where each week we chat to a different homeowner about their buying and renovation journey; whilst taking a look around their home.

Lauren set her sights on moving to Manchester city centre whilst she was studying at university.

"I went to the University of Sheffield to study accounting and finance but because of Covid we were sent home halfway through our second year," Lauren told the Manchester Evening News.

"I initially lived in one of my parents' apartments because they didn’t have any tenants in it at the time, but I eventually wanted to get my own place. I love the city centre and when the Castlefield Wharf apartments came up I thought they were perfect.
