LIVE: Huge police cordon around parts of Canal Street in Manchester city centre

A large police cordon is in place in Manchester's Gay Village this morning. Stretches of Canal Street and Princess Street outside the New Union Hotel have been taped off.

Pictures from the scene show a number of police cars guarding the cordon. Greater Manchester Police have been contacted for a comment.

We're still waiting for an official GMP statement, but it's understood two people have been arrested as part of an investigation into a fight that took place last night. We'll have more details as soon as possible.
