“Incredibly high ceiling” – Fee touted for potential Bristol City, Celtic deal: The verdict

It could cost £15 million for Celtic to prize exciting young forward Antoine Semenyo away from Bristol City, Dean Jones has told GiveMeSport.

The 22-year-old has been in impressive form over the past few months and now notched up five goals and seven assists in 18 appearances this term.

A report from Bristol World has revealed that Celtic have recently scouted Semenyo while Jones has revealed City were asking for £15 million in January and it would take a big package for him to leave.

But would he be a good signing? And do they need him?

I think Thomas Frank summed it up perfectly when he said that Championship players are becoming too expensive.

However, Antoine Semenyo is a player with an incredibly high ceiling who is bullying defenders already at a young age of 22.

He has the physicality, technical ability, attacking intelligence and potential to grow into a top, top player, and it would be no surprise to see him as a big hit at Celtic, if a deal is met, whilst I could also see him thriving in the Premier League.

However, we have only seen a glimpse of what he has to offer thus far, and he is only recently starting to show his capabilities on a more consistent basis.

Semenyo oozes quality and there is scope for him to become one hell of a player, but £15 million at the minute does seem a little steep.

If he is able to maintain this form in what remains of this season, then £15 million starts to look like a more sensible figure.
