Incredible save from Netherlands goalkeeper during Euro 2022 match goes viral
Netherlands goalkeeper Daphne van Domselaar pulled off an incredible save against France last night – and a new angle of the moment has gone viral.
France booked a place in the semi-finals of Euro 2022 with a narrow 1-0 victory over the defending champions.
The Netherlands frustrated France for large parts of the game, with the match at the New York Stadium in Rotherham forced into extra-time.
Ève Périsset then scored the winning goal – a penalty – in the 102nd minute.
The match could have been done and dusted in 90 minutes, however, if not for the heroics of van Domselaar.
With the clock ticking towards full-time, a French corner found the head of defender Wendie Renard, known for her excellent aerial ability.
She guided the ball towards the corner of the Dutch goal, but as it looped in, van Domselaar sprang across and palmed it out of harm’s way.
Oh my word
