'Increasing concern' - Sky Sports man shares worrying injury update out of Leeds United

Patrick Bamford is struggling in his injury recovery and there is ‘increasing concern’ about the situation, according to Sky Sports presenter Jeff Stelling.

The Leeds United striker was one of his side’s heroes last season but it has been a very different tale this time around.

Unfortunately, persistent injuries have seen Bamford limited to just five Premier League starts and it has undoubtedly played a key role in the Whites’ struggles.

The hope was that the England international would be back in the near future but a fresh update suggests that won’t be the case.

Speaking live on Gillette Soccer Saturday [via MOT Leeds News], Stelling admitted there are concerns that Bamford will still be out for some time with a foot problem:

“There is currently an increasing concern about Patrick Bamford.

“We’re told he is still suffering pain from his foot injury so seemingly no closer to a return.”

This is a huge setback for Leeds at such an important point in their season, with Marcelo Bielsa potentially desperate to get Bamford back on the pitch.

The striker was such an influential focal point for the Whites last term, scoring 17 goals and registering seven assists in the league, also linking superbly with others.

Without Bamford around, Leeds may lack the firepower to edge tight games and it looks like it will be up to others to step up in the coming weeks, as some crucial games arrive in the relegation battle.
