Improved Man Utd star reveals Ronaldo help over crucial issue, as Pogba also given major credit

Jadon Sancho says that Cristiano Ronaldo, Paul Pogba and Raphael Varane have all helped him become a better Manchester United player – both on and off the pitch.

Sancho arrived at Old Trafford last summer as United’s marquee, £73million signing. He did so following impressive form throughout his spell at Borussia Dortmund.

As a result, he faced criticism for his slow start at Man Utd, the winger taking until mid-November to score his first goal.

However, Sancho then two goals in two games including a vital strike away at Chelsea. And he has shown further signs of improvement more recently.

The 21-year-old scored two scored and assisted two others in February. Three of those contributions came in the Premier League.

Sancho’s arrival in July was somewhat overshadowed by Ronaldo’s Old Trafford return in August. The 37-year-old came straight into the attack as a nailed-on starter for most matches.

Still, Sancho has insisted that Ronaldo, fellow summer signing Varane and midfielder Pogba have helped him better his recovery after matches.

“I’m here with a lot of great players and I’m learning from the best,” the winger told MUTV.

“You’ve got Cristiano Ronaldo, Paul Pogba, Raphael Varane. All these guys have won major trophies and just being in the changing room with them gives you a blessed feeling.

“I’m definitely learning from them, on and off the pitch, especially in terms of their recovery and how they make themselves better.

“I’m taking in all the information I can and trying to put it into my game.”

Sancho insisted that recovery is “very important” with games coming “back to back”.

He added: “You need your legs and especially when you’re a winger – I need to get up and down the pitch.
