Imaginations will run wild as dinosaurs take over Heaton Park this summer

With 40 life-sized animatronic dinosaurs, Heaton Park is set to be transformed into a truly Mesozoic landscape as Dinosaurs in the Park comes to town this summer.

From Thursday, July 20, to Sunday, August 6, 2023, Mancunians and holiday-makers can delve into the world of dinosaurs and experience a day packed with dino-themed fun.

The journey starts at the Dinosaur Trail. Winding your way past life-sized dinosaurs that roar and move, you must help palaeontologists find their lost tools so they can unearth new fossils.

Next, you'll find yourself stopped in your tracks by the on-site dinosaur dentist who needs your help to clean a Tyrannosaurus Rex's big gnashers. She might even have to perform an extraction as the T-Rex snaps at her.

Once the teeth are pearly white again, you're free to head into the fun zone which is home to a wealth of exciting hands-on activities included in the price of your ticket. Plus, a few optional extras such as children’s fun fair rides which cost per ride.

Head to the Designasaurus Studio where you can design your own dinosaur and watch it come to life on the screen or try your hand at archaeology at the dino excavation digs, where children can use brushes and tools to find fossils in a big sandpit. You'll also find mini golf, dino kingdom bouncy castle, and mini soft play for under 3s, as well as food vendors selling a range of delicious meals.

Explore the palaeontologists' tent where you can discover fossils and dinosaur dung, and learn interesting facts to wow your friends and family. Here, you'll also be able to watch the 'Videosaurus' - a 3D experience that takes you inside a dinosaur, looking at its organs, bones and more!
