Ilkay Gundogan: Footage of German coaching Man City U16s is fascinating

Ilkay Gundogan has played under a plethora of world-class managers during his professional career.

At Borussia Dortmund, Gundogan was managed by Jurgen Klopp for four years and then spent a season with Thomas Tuchel at the helm.

He then moved to Manchester City, where has has played under Pep Guardiola for the past six years and counting.

While at international level, Gundogan has been managed by Joachim Low and Hansi Flick.

And footage shows that Gundogan has clearly taken notes from those five managers over his professional career.

Gundogan will be 32 years old in October and his playing days are coming to an end.

The German is considering moving into coaching after he hangs up his boots.

He is currently taking his coaching badges and, as part of his training, has coached Man City’s U16s.

It looks as if Gundogan has the potential to become a top manager in the future. He looked a natural teaching City’s youngsters.
