If it is the last one, I'll be a happy man - Peter O'Mahony unsure on future

Peter O'Mahony stopped short of calling time on his Test career but the Ireland captain admitted lifting the Six Nations trophy after victory over Scotland was the defining moment of his career.

The 34-year-old's future was a hot topic of debate before, during and after the nervy championship-clinching win over Scotland, but speaking on RTÉ Radio 1's Saturday Sport, he admitted he has not made a decision yet.

"I don't know it could be [his last Ireland game]. It could be. I have a couple of big decisions to make over the next few weeks with my family. See how my body feels.

"I'm still loving it. I have a couple of important conversations to have. I'll tell you what If it is the last one, I'll be a happy man," said the Munster back-row.

On lifting the trophy at Lansdowne Road, O'Mahony said it would be the defining moment of his career.

"They've all been special in their own right. To come back from defeat in World Cup and come back from last week, it shows the chracater in the group we have and I'm very grateful to have been a part of it," he said.

"We've put in a lot of hard work this group, going back to the World Cup, it was tough but it galvanised us. Between our families, the staff, everyone is close. It's a great group. Delighted we could show everyone the respect, and the jersey the respect and win today."
