IBL 2022 Basketball Season to Welcome Back Fan Attendance
TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Indonesian Basketball League (IBL) announced in a press conference on Thursday that it will offer tickets for fans attending the 2022 season, which will kickoff on January 15.
IBL president Junas Miradiarsyah said the tickets will only be sold online and tickets will not be sold at ticket boxes. The 2022 basketball competition is set to start on January 15 at the Gelora Bung Karno Basketball Hall in Jakarta.
It will be held in six cities, namely Bandung, Yogyakarta, Surabaya, and Denpasar, Antaranews reported.
“The tickets will be sold after we conduct a simulation on January 7 together with the BNPB, Health Ministry, and all of the instances that support us,” he said. “Once it is approved, we will open ticket sales two days after. So, expect it early next week.”
He explained that the IBL obtained approval to host games with fans attendance, though under a limited number. Each city will have its own maximum quota which will depend on the pandemic situation in the region.
“We see it like this, no matter how much the percentage will be approved by the government, it will suffice as it means players can now compete again in the presence of fans and family members,” he added.
