Unbeaten prospect Ian Garry made it two in two as he outpointed Darian Weeks at UFC 273.
There was little action in the first round as Garry used his size advantage to stay out of Weeks' range. The Irishman was mixing up his kicks well as Weeks tried to press Garry against the fence and get him to the ground.
Weeks was struggling to land anything notable as Garry continued to attack his legs. The American tried to work for takedowns against the cage but Garry defended well to keep the fight standing.
Garry upped his output in the third round as he landed a front kick to Weeks' face. He then dropped the American with a big right hand. Garry looked for the takedown by pressing Weeks against the fence as the fight came to a close.
After three rounds the judges saw it 30-27, 30-27 and 29-28 all in Garry's favour as the 24-year-old extended his unbeaten record to 9-0.
Garry was making his second UFC appearance at the event in Jacksonville, Florida having won his promotional debut last year. 'The Future' knocked out Jordan Williams at UFC 268 and paid homage to countryman Conor McGregor in his post-fight interview.
