Ian Evatt reveals Bolton Wanderers’ target

Bolton Wanderers boss Ian Evatt has told The Bolton News that the club are determined to hunt down the rest of the top 10 in Sky Bet League One. 

At the time of writing the Trotters are currently sat in 10th and are looking towards breaking into the top six after seeing their fortunes change for the better in more recent times after a fresh recruitment drive in January.

Bolton are unbeaten in their last six league games, with that run of results including impressive victories over the likes of Sunderland (6-0) and Ipswich Town (2-0).

Now Evatt has thrown down the gauntlet to his side’s promotion rivals as he made the following bold statement:

“We want to hunt down the teams above us and we are aware that there is quite a gap to those teams.”

The Bolton manager was speaking ahead of his side’s clash this weekend against Oxford United – a game which pits together two sides who have equal ambitions of making the play-offs this term.

A victory for Wanderers at the Kassam Stadium could see them close the gap on the top six places to eight points if other results go in their favour.

The Verdict 

The signing of Dion Charles along with the other additions that were made in January has made Bolton more of a force to be reckoned with and it just shows that all their hard work to get the deals done is paying off.

Add to the fact that they are beating a lot of the teams that they are competing directly with for a play-off place and it is fair to say that the club is in a great place right now.

They started the campaign slowly with there even being some fans to called for Evatt to go but now it appears that everyone is moving in the same direction at the University of Bolton Stadium.
