Ian Evatt on Dion Charles offside Bolton Wanderers goal vs Sheffield Wednesday & MJ Williams aim

Ian Evatt says he will have a look to see if Dion Charles' offside goal should have stood or not for Bolton Wanderers against Sheffield Wednsday as he feels MJ Williams ought to add more goals to his game.

Wanderers went behind after the break when the Owls took the lead through Harlee Dean's header from Barry Bannan's corner came off the post and Jordan Storey was on hand to tap home.

But Bolton equalised before full-time when Aaron Morley's corner was only half cleared and Williams fired home through a crowded penalty area to ensure Wanderers would get a share of the spoils.

Wanderers are 10th in the table after the draw, while Wednesday remain in the top six but only on goal difference along with Sunderland and Wycombe Wanderers.

Before Storey put the Owls in front, Charles had raced clear to put Wanderers ahead, but was ultimately flagged offside and the goal did not stand.

Evatt admits he will have a look at the goal back but was pleased with the draw as he felt Williams could add more goals to his game after breaking his Wanderers duck.

He said: "I haven’t seen that back to be honest, but I’ll have a look. There’s not too many times this season where we can say we’ve probably got away with that a little bit and today was one of those days, but there’s no crime in that.

"It always seems to be us on the other end of that so a good draw and then four more games to go.

“He (Williams) strikes a wonderful ball so there’s no reason why he can’t add goals to his game. Fundamentally he’s our defensive midfield player and he has responsibility but he can progress up the pitch.
