I would grab £2m for Elie Youan to bring in the freshness Hibs need next season – Tam McManus

Elie Youan has been too inconsistent at Hibs. So if the club can get figures of around £2million for him, I’d be grabbing the offer ASAP.

Youan is talented, his numbers are good in terms of goals and contributions. But that sort of money offers an excellent return on an outlay of just £500,000 and such levels of profit for a club like Hibs have to be taken. If it’s a decent club in France at a good level, no disrespect to Scottish football, then he’ll be pushing to go too. This deal could be of big benefit to the club. I know there’s been an investment from the Black Knights but the club can’t be flush with money.

The squad is massively bloated and they are probably still paying off managers who have gone out of the door in the past wee while. Cash for Youan would be really handy to plug gaps and give the new manager some funds in the summer. Hibs need that freshness in the forward areas and it’s going to have to be a full reboot. As a manager walking into the club, that is what you want.

You don’t want to be dealing with 15 or 20 players who are under contract having been signed by previous managers. You are stuck and you want a blank canvas without being burdened by guys on long deals that you don’t fancy.

It’s a problem for every boss and
