'I wanted to try the 37p solution that claims to instantly lift sagging eyelids - but my mum stole it'

As we age, gravity will take its toll, and skin will start to droop. The eyes and eyelids tend to be a particular problem area when it comes to sagging skin, but few can afford to keep up with Botox, or better still, a face lift.

But many shoppers are now using a 'quick fix' for sagging eyes. Contours Rx Lids by Design Eyelid Lift Strips are proving particularly popular, and are said to give an 'instant' eye lift.In a box, you'll find 80 strips — enough for over a month — and a pair of plastic tweezers to help with application. A box of 80 strips is currently reduced down to £29.47 on Amazon, down from £34.47, working out at 37p per strip.

With that in mind, Mirror shopping writer Lauren Codling tried the strips out for herself to see how effective they really are. But they proved so effective on her 68-year-old mum, she nabbed them. Here's what Lauren said:

I was slightly sceptical of these claims (even when faced with the 3,000+ five-star reviews on Amazon), but I'm always keen to try new skincare and beauty hacks. When I asked my 68-year-old mum if she fancied testing them with me, she also jumped at the chance.

Anything to look younger without the need for expensive surgery and skincare products. But the real question is, do they work? My mum and I put them to the test to see the effect on different skin types and ages.
