I've seen Man City win 33 trophies and saw Bert Trautmann break his neck – but this title would mean everything

If Manchester City win the Premier League title on Sunday, thousands of fans will likely stream on the pitch to celebrate a historical achievement. For Inez McKee, the title would be the icing of the cake of 72 years following the Blues before she reluctantly gives up her season ticket this summer.

Inez, 92, first went to see City in 1951 when she moved to Manchester from North Wales to become a teacher. She attended the 1956 FA Cup final when Bert Trautmann broke his neck and saw club legends like Colin Bell, Mike Summerbee and Franny Lee in their prime.

There can't be many fans in the world who have held a season ticket longer than Inez, but unfortunately, she is giving up her ticket as attending matches is becoming too difficult.

However, she would love nothing more than to see her ninth league title – and her 34th trophy in total.

"I used to love Roy Paul. Of course I loved Colin Bell and Franny Lee. Bert Trautmann was my pin-up!" Inez tells MEN Sport. "He was very brave. He'd already signed when I came to Manchester. He was booed wherever he went, especially Liverpool, because of the bombing. Of course he wasn't a pilot. I loved him, he was so handsome.

"I remember when Bert broke his neck in the cup final and the way Dave Ewing shepherded him round. There were no subs in those days, he really looked after Bert. If he did one side-step he would have died. We didn't know how badly he was hurt, he was holding his neck the whole time he played in the second half. But he couldn't come off!"
