'I transformed my dull rented kitchen on a £150 budget whilst my daughter was napping'
Renovating your home can take a lot of time, money and not to mention patience, as things don't always go to plan. For these reasons, more and more people are taking on DIY in a bid to save money and manage their home renovation projects themselves.
For those who live in rented properties, it can be much more difficult to make your home feel like your own, as there are rules and regulations that tenants have to follow when it comes to decorating. One mum has now shown how you can completely transform your rented rooms by upcycling your existing furniture - all whilst keeping to a tight budget.
Maisie Rees, 35, managed to turn her dull and dated kitchen into a cool, graphic space for under £150 - and she did it all during her two-year-old daughter's nap times with the renovation completed in less than a week. The mum-of-one spoke to Tap Warehouse about how she did the DIY project to help inspire other renters.

“Our budget didn’t allow for us ripping out the kitchen and starting again, so I thought I’d make do with what we have instead and give our home a bit of a makeover," Maisie said. "I began by creating some mock ups on my Mac, messing around with what to paint on the backsplash and what colour the cupboards would be."
Once she was happy with her plans, the mum began painting the walls, ceiling and existing tiled backsplash. "For the backsplash, I primed it with white paint and then handpainted the black graphic shapes that I created by using cardboard templates - this probably took the longest," she said.
