I saw how Edinson Cavani treated staff at PSG - it says a lot about ex-Man United forward

Edinson Cavani was known to refuse free gifts and regularly spend time with Paris Saint-Germain staff during his tenure with the Ligue 1 champions.

The striker, who played for Manchester United between 2020 and 2022, spent eight years of his career in the French capital and left the club as their all-time goalscorer - a record that has since been broken by Kylian Mbappe.

While his quality in front of goal was obvious since his early days in Italy with Palermo, it was his classy character that ultimately stole the show when he was at PSG.

During his illustrious career in the French capital, the Uruguayan, 37, grew close to PSG staff, and not just those directly involved with the football on the pitch. An extract from his 2017 autobiography, El Matador, by Romain Molina, provides an inside look into Cavani's warm personality and how he endeared himself to those in Paris.

"One day, he did a photo shoot for Hugo Boss, who is a partner of PSG," the extract reads. "At the end of the shoot, Cavani asks for the reference of a costume he likes. The photographer tells him he can take it, a brand manager confirms it.

"But Cavani refuses, explaining that he earns a lot of money and that he does not need to be given a gift. He just wanted to know the reference to buy the same one. He took two and at Hugo Boss, it was the first time we saw a PSG player do that. It's a little trick. But there is only Cavani who does that.
