I quit Chelsea for dream Man City transfer - now I'm on a mission to excite fans and score goals

Manchester City might have been struggling to convert their chances at first team level recently but they don't have the same issues in the academy.

A rampant 6-1 win in the UEFA Youth League masked some minor issues in their performance according to their head coach, but the headlines were clear. Sixteen-year-old Reigan Heskey continued his electric form with a brace, fellow school-leaver Ryan McAidoo came off the bench to notch an 18-minute hat-trick, and winger Farid Alfa-Ruprecht lashed in a volley that showed his confidence in a campaign that continues to deliver goals and assists.

Back to McAidoo, and City have a player not short in confidence after his transfer from Chelsea in the summer. Predominantly a winger, he came on as a striker with City ahead but only by one goal. Two minutes later, he had a brace and City had daylight.

McAidoo scored with his first touch having been played through by a fine Justin Oboavwoduo assist, before Oboavwoduo dispossessed the goalkeeper a minute later to hand McAidoo an easy second with his second touch. Two goals, two minutes, two touches. Soon after, when City won a penalty and he stepped up ahead of Heskey (also on a hat-trick) to complete his treble.

"I have got a team-mate, Harrison Miles, he jokes ‘two touches, two goals’. This time it was three touches and three goals," McAidoo, 16, told MEN Sport after the game.

"Since he’s come in this summer he has played more as a winger but we started to seriously consider playing him as a winger," said City head coach Ben Wilkinson. "We thought we would leave it until later in the game but we know he is a great finisher
