I played alongside Bruno Fernandes at Man United - he is misinterpreted and an excellent captain
Bruno Fernandes' passion to win at Manchester United is 'misinterpreted' as histrionics and he is an excellent captain.
That is the view of Fernandes' former United team-mate Phil Jones, who insists the Portuguese international midfielder is a leader who is 'really good' with the club's young players.
Jones was working as a pundit for the BBC for United's 1-1 draw at home to Chelsea, as Fernandes opened the scoring from the penalty spot before Moises Caicedo's equaliser for the visitors.

Fernandes has never hidden his emotions on the pitch - positive or negative - and there have been question marks over whether his demeanour is befitting of a United captain.
However, Jones, who played alongside Fernandes at Old Trafford for three-and-a-half years, insists he is not only a brilliant player but a brilliant captain, too.
"I think he most certainly can," Jones told Match of the Day 2 when asked if he is the type of captain who can 'drag a team with him'.
"I almost get the impression he is misinterpreted at times and I can only go off my experience in the dressing room that I spent with him and the time I played with him.
"He is a leader in that dressing room, he is really good with the young lads and we all have different captains but he is a leader on the pitch in terms of the quality he brings.
"He is a player you build the team around. He has bags of ability, his range of passing is superb."
