'Excited' - Bruno Fernandes explains vital role he'll play in Ruben Amorim's Man United revolution

Bruno Fernandes has explained the crucial role he will play in Ruben Amorim's success or failure at Manchester United, ahead of the new manager's first game in charge of the club.

Amorim will take his United side to Ipswich Town this afternoon as he looks to kickstart his reign as manager with a win.

His side will be captained by his Portuguese compatriot, Fernandes, although what role he will play at Portman Road will be very interesting.

Amorim's success with former club Sporting CP was built on his use of a 3-4-3 formation and he revealed in his pre-match press conference he is planning to play that way with United, too.

It is an unfamiliar formation to a squad used to playing a 4-3-3 under Erik ten Hag and Ruud van Nistelrooy but it is a system the players will simply have to get on board with.

As captain, Fernandes sees his role in that transition as key and he has urged his United team-mates to be the 'most excited' for a change in philosophy at Old Trafford.

"It's his ideas, we just have to get into them and do the best we can," Fernandes told Sky Sports.

"I think communication was part of his success and I think he's really good at that. We can't focus too far because I think that's been our problem lately, working too much ahead of us.

"My role is to push everyone to get on board with the coaching staff, with new ideas, to make everyone understand that we're going to go in a different way now and we have to be the ones most excited for that."
