"I'm sure" - Journalist drops exciting Wolves claim on "formidable" £71.1m-rated trio
Wolverhampton Wanderers trio Raul Jimenez, Daniel Podence and Pedro Neto will ‘form a formidable attack’, according to journalist Pete O’Rourke.
The trio are yet to feature in the same starting line-up this season due to Neto’s extensive injury problems, but they could build some momentum in the final few weeks of the campaign.
It’s been a successful season for Bruno Lage’s charges so far, with their haul of 46 points enough to have them sitting in eighth place after 29 games.
However, things could have been looking even brighter for Wolves had their forward players been even more decisive in front of goal.
The Midlands outfit have only found the back on the net on 29 occasions in the top-flight prior to this evening’s encounter with Leeds United, by far the lowest tally in the top half of the table.
And Wolves’ issues in the final third of the pitch are highlighted by the fact that Jimenez – who is valued at £19.8m by Transfermarkt – is the club’s top scorer in the league with just six strikes.
But the Mexico international should have the additional support of Neto – who is valued at £31.5m – and the continued presence of Podence for the majority of their remaining fixtures in 2021/22.
Neto has been ruled out of today’s enticing encounter against Leeds with a foot injury, but he’s set to return after the international break as Wolves push for European qualification.

And O’Rourke is ‘sure’ that the Portugal international can build a deadly relationship with Jimenez and Podence – who is valued at £19.8m – between now and May.
