"I'm sure..." - Journalist claims 'tremendous' 22 y/o could now leave Molineux

Wolves have a “big decision” to make this summer over whether to keep hold of midfielder Morgan Gibbs-White, according to journalist Pete O’Rourke.

Gibbs-White is currently on loan at Championship side Sheffield United, and has flourished in the second-tier this season.

After being limited to a couple of cameo league appearances for Wolves at the start of the campaign, Gibbs-White was sent to Bramall Lane for the remainder of the season.

The move has worked out very well for the 22-year-old. He scored in both of his opening two matches for the Blades, and has not looked back as he has helped put the team in contention for a play-off place.

Overall, he has scored 10 goals and delivered seven assists in 32 Championship games for Paul Heckingbottom’s side, an impressive record for a player who has been used in a variety of positions in midfield, out wide and even up front, with Midlands reporter Josh Holland recently describing him as “tremendous“.

Given how well he has performed this season, O’Rourke expects there to be plenty of interest in Gibbs-White if he is available this summer.

O’Rourke has hinted that Wolves may be tempted to cash in on the youngster, who is valued at £8.1m by Transfermarkt.

He told GIVEMESPORT: “If Wolves do decide to cash in on him, I’m sure there’ll be a lot of takers for him. So, it’s a big decision for Wolves and for Gibbs-White this summer, because I’m sure he’s got that taste of first-team football.

“He’ll be looking to play regularly, and if he’s never going to get that at Wolves, he might have to decide to move on.”

It could come down to how the rest of their midfield is looking heading into next season.
