Man Utd: Ten Hag now 'looking at' signing 'outstanding' 6 ft 3 beast

Manchester United are ‘looking at’ PSV Eindhoven midfielder Ibrahim Sangare ahead of the upcoming summer transfer window, according to journalist Dean Jones.

The Red Devils are expected to conduct an extensive overhaul of their first-team squad following to arrival of incoming manager Erik ten Hag after a hugely underwhelming campaign.

Following the recent 4-0 defeat at the hands of fierce rivals Liverpool, interim boss Ralf Rangnick suggested there could be up to 10 new arrivals at Old Trafford over the coming months.

“There will be a rebuild here,” said the German tactician. “Six, seven, maybe 10 new players will come. (Liverpool) have better players than we have, and this was really reflected by the result today.”

According to ESPN, Ten Hag will be handed a budget between £100 million and £150m for his first window at the helm, although that will be boosted by any potential outgoings.

The report states that a striker, central midfielder and centre-back will be targeted as the highly-regard Ajax head coach looks to rebuild the spine of United’s starting XI.

Benfica’s Darwin Nunez and Tottenham’s Harry Kane are believed to be the players identified to lead the line in the red half of Manchester, while Declan Rice of West Ham could be brought in to solve their engine room issues.

Meanwhile, long-term target Pau Torres could finally make the switch from Villarreal to provide a natural left-sided centre-back option, or Jurrien Timber may follow Ten Hag to United from Ajax.

Securing their top targets may prove a costly affair, though, with West Ham boss David Moyes claiming Rice alone has a £150m price tag.
