'I'm not broken, I still love it' - Daniel Ricciardo adamant on finding F1 refuge
Daniel Ricciardo said he would like to extend his stay in Formula 1 and will consider all available options.
McLaren and the Australian will part ways at the end of the 2022 F1 season, and he will be replaced by fellow Aussie Oscar Piastri for 2023. Ricciardo has already said he is prepared to take a break from racing next year until the right position comes up.
On Monday, in an interview with Australia's The Core website, Ricciardo said he would love to continue his career in F1 if possible.
"That fire in my gut is still there. It hasn't gone away," the 33-year-old Ricciardo said. "There are pros with having some time off, but then obviously staying active in here is good.
"So that's why I want to hear everything. Even if it's reserve. I don't want to be too proud to say, 'I'm too good for that'. I just want to hear everything and see what makes sense."

Options exist
Ricciardo is in no rush financially to take any position on offer as McLaren has bought him out of his contract at the team for the 2023 season.
Ricciardo's possible options for next season could be with Alpine and Haas, who have not yet confirmed their full driver line-ups for 2023. He has also been linked via media reports to Mercedes as a potential reserve driver.
Any decision by Ricciardo on his future will more than likely be made in early October following the Japanese Grand Prix on 9 October.
"I still want to be on the grid. That might not be at any cost, but I definitely still want to do it," Ricciardo said.
"I've been tested over the last couple of years, for sure. But I'm proud to say I haven't been broken. And that's why I still love it."
