Tottenham Hotspur winger Steven Bergwijn could look to bolster his World Cup dreams by seeking a move away from north London amid interest from AC Milan, according to Sky Sports reporter Michael Bridge.

Head coach Antonio Conte is likely to look to bring in reinforcements when the transfer window reopens in the summer, but it appears Bergwijn could be a star who leaves the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in the not-too-distant future.

According to Italian media outlet La Gazzetta dello Sport, AC Milan are already working on a deal which would take Bergwijn to the San Siro in the summer.

The report suggests Spurs managing director Fabio Paratici wants to offload a number of players in the upcoming transfer window and 18-cap Netherlands international is attracted to the possibility of heading to Serie A.

Bergwijn has been on the north Londoners’ books since completing a £27million move from PSV Eindhoven just over two years ago.

But it appears Tottenham are willing to take a hit on the winger as Calciomercato have claimed a fee as low as £15million could be enough to seal a deal.

Bergwijn’s contract – which is worth £73,000-per-week – still has more than three years to run, so this summer could represent the perfect opportunity for Spurs to cash-in.

Bridge understands that AC Milan are admirers of Bergwijn and mulling over whether to strengthen their interest by tabling a bid.
