Lenglet, Richarlison, Kane: Spurs' potential 2022/23 XI is stacked amid imminent double signing

Tottenham have not messed around in the transfer market ahead of the upcoming season.

With Antonio Conte in the hot seat and Champions League football secured, they wowed everyone months ago with a handful of shrewd, quickfire signings to bolster their squad.

Consider that they already added Dejan Kulusevski and Rodrigo Bentancur in January, their transfer business so far has certainly unnerved their Premier League rivals.

It feels like Spurs are fully embracing the unique position that they’re in by having Conte as their manager and seem prepared to back him to the hills, giving him whatever he needs to imprint his serial winning stamp on them.

And while that can come with its quirks – namely signing ageing wing backs – it has also guaranteed success just about everywhere else he has gone.

Tottenham have had an incredible start to the summer, however, recruiting what feels like a seriously well balanced trio. Perisic is the ultimate Conte player, Bissouma blossomed into one of the best midfielders in the Premier League at Brighton, and Fraser Forster has joined to deputise for Hugo Lloris. Not bad at all.

They aren’t done there, though, and the double swoop they are seemingly on the cusp of pulling off has just given their first team a completely new level of balance and ability.

Per Fabrizio Romano and Sky Sports, Spurs are closing in on a £60m deal to sign Everton forward Richarlison, with a deal expected to be completed before the week is out following the signature ‘here we go’ tweet. Romano also reports that they are on the verge of an agreement with Barcelona to loan in Lenglet, with personal terms already agreed.

That is some serious business. And we’re only at the end of June.
