I flopped at Rangers and my Ibrox spell ended in disgrace but Gerrard and Defoe made it the BEST time of my career

Rangers flop Eros Grezda played just 17 times for Rangers during an 18-month spell in Scotland but still describes it as the best time of his career.

The Albanian misfit was signed for £2 million from Croatian outfit Osijek, where he played with Borna Barisic, to become the 14th signing of Steven Gerrard’s first summer in charge at Ibrox. But he failed to make any sort of impact at Rangers with the highlight coming when he scored a brace in a 7-1 home rout of Motherwell.

Grezda signed a four-year deal but was shown the door at Ibrox as his short-lived spell in Scotland ended shortly after a shameful spitting incident during a Tunnock's Caramel Wafer Challenge Cup tie at Ballymena. Despite that, the ex winger has raved about his time at Ibrox as he heaped praise on Steven Gerrard, currently under pressure in his job with Saudi Arabia outfit Al-Ettifaq, and legendary striker Jermain Defoe.

Still only 28, the Albanian international is currently playing for Partizan Tirana and told Tribal Football: "My best experience? I would choose my time at Rangers, but I actually had my best sporting moment when playing for Osijek in Croatia.

"Of course, I would choose the Scottish League, during my time there I saw a high level in everything in every aspect of the training, of the organisation. The league there is very hard, very physical and it's much more difficult than in the other leagues I have played.
