'I feel' - Ruben Amorim opens up on major Manchester United selling point
New head coach Ruben Amorim has said he 'felt a connection' between himself, the club and senior Manchester United figures when making the decision to move to Old Trafford.
Amorim was installed as United's new boss earlier this month and officially started work at the club on Monday, less than 24 hours after taking charge of Sporting Lisbon for the final time. United identified the 39-year-old as their first-choice target to succeed Erik ten Hag and moved swiftly to reach an agreement with the Portuguese club.
United, in a statement confirming Amorim's appointment on November 1, described the former Braga chief as 'one of the most exciting and highly rated young coaches in European football'. Opening up for the first time since arriving in England and accepting the challenge of trying to lead United back to their former glories, Amorim has detailed what the specific selling point was in his decision to move to Old Trafford, pointing to his connection with the likes of chief executive Omar Berrada and sporting director Dan Ashworth.

"First of all, I think I felt a connection with the club," said Amorim, speaking to club media. "And when I say with the club, everybody knows Manchester United.
"But I feel the connection with the people in the club and that is very important for me because I want to work with people that I like and I feel a connection. The second point is the history of this club.
"And also the moment I think all the people are hungry for success and I feel that this is the place that I want to be also because of that,
