'I don't see that' - former England manager spots what is wrong with Ruben Amorim's Man United system

Former Tottenham Hotspur and England manager Glenn Hoddle believes Manchester United head coach Ruben Amorim needs to find an alternative way to make his 3-4-2-1 system work at Old Trafford.

United suffered their ninth defeat of Amorim's tenure so far on Sunday, losing 1-0 to Spurs at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

The Reds are now 15th in the Premier League table having amassed just 29 points from their opening 25 matches. They have taken just 14 points from 14 matches under Amorim.

The United head coach immediately changed the team's formation to his preferred 3-4-2-1 system following his appointment in November. However, United's players are struggling to adapt to the new system.

Despite calls for him to try a different system, Amorim has made it clear that he will not abandon his principles. "Today, they were too lopsided and there was an easy get-out for Tottenham; they had too much space on the ball, particularly in the first half. 'Are you going to change' is the question, not, 'Shall we sack him?'

"That is not going to come into it. He does need two or three windows. He has said he is working for his players and that he wants to protect his players.
