I could cry after sitting with Sir Alex Ferguson for Manchester United's defeat to Liverpool

Former Manchester United shot-stopper Peter Schmeichel was left feeling really sad after watching Sir Alex Ferguson during the Red Devils' disappointing defeat to Liverpool at the weekend.

Arne Slot's side ran out comfortable 3-0 winners at Old Trafford, with Sir Alex watching on powerless as Luis Diaz notched a first-half brace before Mohamed Salah wrapped up proceedings in the second half. United have taken just three points from their opening three games, the 1-0 win over Fulham on the opening day of the campaign.

Erik Ten Hag's side were beaten 2-1 by Brighton in the dying embers of their game at the Amex Stadium last weekend. Defeat to Liverpool means it's back-to-back defeats for Man United, leaving them six points adrift of arch-rivals Man City and Liverpool at the top of the league.

Ten Hag has had a net spend of £400million since taking
