'I am going to live my dad's Man United dream tonight - this is about more than just me'

"It is a little bit of a loaded question," Manchester United Women's right back Jayde Riviere explainswhen asked about what playing for the club means.

Riviere has been capped more than 50 times for the Canada national team but playing for United remains one of her biggest honours. "I am not shy and I feel like I have said multiple times before that I am a United fan since I was a kid, so it is always a surreal type of moment when you get these opportunities," she said at Carrington last week.

"For me, for my dad who is the biggest United fan, seeing him be so proud… when he comes he is like a kid in the candy store and it is awesome to live out a dream that he wishes that he could have had the opportunity to do."

The opportunity in question for Riviere tonight is particularly special. Marc Skinner's side will host PSG in the Champions League at Old Trafford for the very first time.

The significance of this moment is not lost on the 24-year-old. "Just touching on that trajectory of women’s football, for us, we want this to be a stepping stone onto something that is going to be a consistent thing every year," she said.

"To be able to play in big stadiums like Old Trafford, to invite an opponent such as PSG into our atmosphere is, I think, going to be something really unique. Obviously the girls and I are buzzing about it.

"There are some differences [in playing at Old Trafford compared to Leigh Sports Village]. It brings more pressure but also more excitement because you know you are going to get a great crowd, you know it will be a bigger stadium.

"For me personally, I can speak for myself that Old Trafford is the Theatre of Dreams for a reason so any time you step on that pitch, you think about the people and I think
