Hull FC team to play Warrington Wolves with key change in halves and centre decision made

Hull FC travel to Warrington on Friday night looking to end a run of two defeats. The Black and Whites have lost to Wakefield and Catalans in recent weeks, but still hold onto fifth position in the Super League table.

Brett Hodgson will be without Carlos Tuimavave and Jordan Johnstone for the round 16 tie, with both players pulling out with injury. The centre is out for the season having ruptured his Achilles tendon and Johnstone is out with a knock sustained in the defeat in Perpignan.

However, there is good news with Scott Taylor's return. The prop forward is back in contention for selection having served a one-match suspension. Three youngsters in Jacob Hookem, Aidan Burrell and Davy Litten are also included in the 21-man-squad.

Hodgson mentioned in his press conference this week two options at his disposal given Josh Reynolds' confirmed departure from the club, with Joe Lovodua and young Hookem both a shout to partner Luke Gale in the halves. Hookem, who it would be great to see get anther shot, has only played one game at this level last year against Wakefield, with Lovodua starring in the role earlier this season, something which could give the Fijian the edge.

There is also a centre decision to make, with Josh Griffin, Cam Scott and Mitieli Vulikijapani all available to replace the injured Tuimavave. On the wings, Adam Swift is fit enough to play after a groin scare, with Darnell McIntosh set to feature on the other flank.

Up front, Hull could start the game with Ligi Sao and Kane Evans, with Scott Taylor, Jack Brown, and Chris Satae to come off the bench. Brad Fash may start at loose man, with Manu Ma'u and Jordan Lane on the edges.
