Hull FC team news as Brett Hodgson makes big call in the halves against St Helens

Brett Hodgson has made the big decision to leave club captain Luke Gale out of his side to take on St Helens at the Totally Wicked Stadium. Gale has missed the last two games through suspension and the head coach has opted against naming him in the line-up for this evening’s clash.

It means Josh Reynolds returns from a ban to partner Joe Lovodua in the halves for the Black and Whites and Hodgson will be hoping the pair can lead the club to their fourth straight Super League result. Adam Swift also misses out on selection against his hometown team and that allows Jamie Shaul and Connor Wynne to continue their successful partnership on the left edge.

Scott Taylor makes his first start of the year as he continues his comeback from injury, while Josh Griffin will make his comeback from an ankle injury off the bench. Griffin hasn’t been seen since the Hull derby and he’ll be offering cover at back-row at centre this evening.

Jordan Johnstone moves from the halves to the bench.
