Huge queues building as all traffic STOPPED on M62

There were huge queues on a stretch of the M62 this afternoon.

According to traffic alert service Inrix, all traffic was stopped on a stretch of the westbound carriageway. It was blocked between junction 12 for the Eccles Interchange and junction 11 to Birchwood.

Long queues were building up to the closure. The motorway was fully reopened at around 1.40pm.
